PRESIDENT – Denise Czech-Dydo called the meeting to order @ 9:00 AM and thanked Evelyn Peck of Reed Memorial Library and Barb Pochedly of Po. Co. District Library for the refreshments and Shelley Zimmerman of Harbor Light Hospice for the raffle prize.

MINUTES – A motion was made by Crystal Shanley to accept the Sept. minutes as corrected. Seconded by Shelley Zimmerman and carried.

TREASURER’S REPORT – Given by Annette Balis. There are 2 new members – American Monument & Granite and Simplicity Home Care LLC. , for a total of 42.

ANNOUNCEMENTS – Kent Healthcare – Dine & Dash – Nov. 8th – 3:30 to 5:30 – meal & testing -$4.00.

Michele Kairis - Annual Brunch Bunch – Kent American Legion – Thanksgiving – 8:00 to 12:00. Auction items needed.

Marta Williger’s newsletter available – “What to do when someone dies”.WilligerLegal Group.com.

Crossroads Hospice – Denise – College students doing Life Stories Memory Books as part of curriculum.

Genel Nichols – Kent Ridge – Book sale and signing by Don Cockroft of Cleveland Browns on Nov. 17 from 4-6PM.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

EDUCATION: No speaker today. Nov. meeting – Generation Cohorts by Lucy Bibbee.

MEMBERSHIP: Genel Nichols reported membership drive now through Jan. 31. Breakfast at Kent Ridge on Nov. 3rd – 8-9 to bring prospective members.Jan. 31 is deadline for inclusion in the new brochure.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS: Harvest Ball was Oct. 19th. 164 Seniors enjoyed good food, music & prizes. Date for next year is Oct. 17, 2012.

NEW BUSINESS: Jane Gwinn – Santa for a Senior & Giving Tree – 20 open places for senior gifts.

Denise Czech-Dydo – RMH & PSSN – Free Memory Screening @ RMH on Nov. 15th – 10 to 12 in Medical Arts Bldg. Senior Celebration – May 8, 2012 @ NEOMED. PSSN is the only table sponsors. Centerpiece and Tri-fold on each table. A motion was made by Jane Gwinn to allocate $300.00 for this event. Seconded by Diane Barben& carried.

Denise announced the By-Laws changes will be voted on at the November meeting.

Denise presented the slate of officers for 2012. President- Crystal Shanley, Pres. Elect – Stacy Russell, Secretary – Mary Runer, Asst. Sec. – Lisa Little, Treasurer – Annette Balis. There were no nominations from the floor. The slate will be voted on at the Nov. meeting.

On March 7, 2012, Regina Brett will be the keynote speaker for the Women in Business Conference @ KSU.

Denise will contact Denise Anderson about the PSSN Web site and suggested checking the website – SSAMA.net for an example of her work.

The raffle prize was won by Lucy Bibbee.

A motion to adjourn was made by Stacey Russell. Seconded by Annette Balis and carried.
