PSSN MINUTES
March 25, 2010

President Genel Nichols called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. and called for introductions and announcements. Genel announced that the Senior Celebration is May 11 at NEOUCOMP and nominations are requested for the Senior Awards. Genel announced the web site bill has been paid and the web site is back up. Genel announced that PSSN members voted to remove Client Services as a standing committee.

Jen Allen- Announced she is with One-On-One which is a free outreach program to assist people with food and provide information on resources for assistance in the community.

PROGRAM: Bob Park, Veterans Service Commission, discussed the difference of services between the commission and VA (Veterans Administration). Bob explained the assistance is need based and assists with unforeseen incidents. Bob explained assets are no longer counted in application process. Assistance is short term and flexible based on need.

Secretary’s report:
The minutes were not able to be posted on the web site and will be presented at the April meeting for a vote.

Treasurer’s report :
Eric Bloniarz presented financial report for review

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Community Relations: Jane Gwinn reported plans are underway for the 10th anniversary celebration scheduled for May 19, 2011. Jane noted the Education Committee and Community Relations will meet April 14 at 9:00 a.m. to discuss future in more detail. Jane informed committee that the committee is also working on developing a flyer for emergency personnel that list triggers to identify older adults at risk.
